On Nov. 6 and 7, the Book Writing Boot Camp will take place at the Hunter Street Baptist Church in Hoover, Alabama. The theme of the camp on Nov. 6 will be story crafting, while the focus will be on narrative-nonfiction on Nov. 7.

On Friday, the Boot Camp will teach writers an ideal story structure that works well with both fiction and non-fiction writing. They will also teach writers how to self-publish their works on the program “CreateSpace.”

“On Saturday, we will teach writers how to write a nonfiction book in the new and wildly popular narrative nonfiction style,” said Denise George, author and co-founder of the camp, “a true story containing suspense, twists and turns, mystery and all the wonderful techniques of fictional writing.”

The importance of copyright in nonfiction will also be discussed at the camp, particularly what material requires copyright permission and how to gain consent.

Denise George will be the main instructor of the event. George is a popular author who has published over 30 books as well as 1,500 magazine articles. Her most recent publications have been nonfiction pieces on the Holocaust, The Second World War and the Civil Rights movements.

“Through the Book Writing Boot Camp, Denise equips writers to produce high-quality books and articles that will compete in today’s publishing and consumer marketplaces,” George said.

Each date will individually cost $149. Writers wishing to attend can also email [email protected] in order to gain a 50% student promotional code (offered for both dates). The cost to attend both days of the event is $285, and the student promotional code still applies. Writers can register for the camp at www.bookwritingbootcamp.org.
