Pack-A-Purse drive aims to prepare women re-entering society from jail

What: The Pack-A-Purse Project Donation Drive

Who: The Women and Gender Resource Center; the Triota Honor Society
When: Jan. 20 – Feb. 3
Where: Drop off locations at: Lloyd Hall, Room 201; Farrah Hall, Room 412; Manly Hall, Room 104; the South Lawn Office Building, Suite 2000
Why: “It is for women that are coming out of jail and re-entering society,” said Paige Miller, the program coordinator for the Women and Gender Resource Center. “We are teaming up with the Triota Honor Society to help get these women back on their feet. Many of them don’t have the resources they need when they are released from jail so by giving them purses and tote bags full of things like shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes and toothpaste, we are ensuring that they have those necessities.”
