Alabama announced on Monday that freshman forward Braxton Key plans to enter the 2017 NBA Draft. Key will not hire an agent, meaning he could still return to play for Alabama for the 2017-2018 season. He will have until May 24 to make that decision.

Key was arguably the most important player on Alabama last year and was named to the SEC All-Freshman team. He led the team in scoring with 12.0 points per game and minutes per game at 29.8. He also had the most games in double figures for the Crimson Tide with 20.

Alabama has already had three players leave due to transfer, and losing Key could be another big blow.  Alabama has not had a player selected in the NBA Draft since Richard Hendrix went 49th overall to the Golden State Warriors.
