WHO: The University of Alabama Career Center and Tuscaloosa’s JCPenney have partnered to host this event.

WHAT: An exclusive event for UA students and first-year alumni to shop for professional attire at highly discounted rates. The night will include giveaways, makeovers and haircuts. The Career Center will also be providing transportation. Buses will be located outside the Ferguson Center loop at 6 p.m. to shuttle students to and from the event.

WHEN: Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, 6:30-9:30 p.m.

WHERE: JCPenney store in the University Mall.

WHY: The JCPenney Suit-Up event is an opportunity for students to prepare for their professional careers by saving money while shopping for the proper attire at discounted prices.

“This event is beneficial because it allows students to save money,” said Shernavia Hall, director of operations for UA’s Career Center. “JCPenney associates and Career Center employees will also be there to give students feedback on professional attire. When we had our last event in the spring, it was a hit. Students saved over $70,000 to get professional attire for either job interviews or leadership positions on campus.”
