UAPD reports robbery outside Rounders bar

University of Alabama students received an email around 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning informing them of a reported off-campus robbery.

According to the email, multiple suspects demanded money from the victim outside of Rounders bar on University Boulevard around 1:45 a.m.

“The victim was assaulted and approximately $200 was taken by the suspects,” according to the email. “No weapon was used in the robbery. The suspects fled in separate directions and some suspects were apprehended shortly after, but others may still be at-large.”

The victim described the suspects as black males. The victim has not provided other identifying information as of this time.

The email asks anyone with additional information about this occurrence to call University Police at 205-348-5454 or Crime Stoppers at 205-752-7867(STOP). Additionally, crime prevention information can be found in UAPD’s Safer Living Guide at https://police.ua.edu/safer-living-guide-2-2/.

The email also provided students and community members with the following safety considerations:

– Be careful and mindful of any valuables you may carry on your person

– If confronted, give the perpetrator what they ask for. Your safety is more important.
