Players practicing new, multiple positions

The University of Alabama football team practiced for the second time this spring on Monday in helmets and shorts and was forced to do so indoors due to inclement weather in the Tuscaloosa area.

Many of the position changes that Alabama unveiled Saturday remain unchanged. Wide receivers Christion Jones and Cyrus Jones, and running back Dee Hart continued to work at cornerback. Christion Jones wore a white jersey, in contrast to the crimson jerseys worn by defensive players, as he continues to split time between wide receiver and corner back.

Xzavier Dickson, who went through drills with the defensive line Saturday despite playing outside linebacker in 2012, was back to working with the linebackers Monday.

Kevin Norwood and John Fulton, who each had toe surgery over the offseason, continued to ride stationary bikes and do conditioning drills. Jalston Fowler, C.J. Mosley and Hart wore black, no-contact jerseys but went through drills normally.

“I don’t really know how things are going to work out,” Mosley said Saturday of his shoulder injury. “I just have to keep rehabbing every day, work on getting better, learning plays and helping people out.”

Alabama will resume practice Wednesday and Friday before being dismissed for spring break. All spring practices are closed to the public except for A-Day.
