NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 30 Alabama men’s tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision Sunday to No. 32 Vanderbilt at the Currey Tennis Center. With the loss, the Crimson Tide falls to 7-9 on the season and 1-4 against Southeastern Conference opponents, while the Commodores improve to 10-6 overall and 2-3 in the league.

“We had several chances in doubles and many more in singles, but we’re just not converting key points,” said head coach Billy Pate. “It’s a disappointing outcome, but I give Vanderbilt credit for playing well on their home court.

“We’ll have a good week of practice this week and look forward to playing at home next weekend.”

Next up, Alabama returns home to host Southern Mississippi on Friday. Opening serve is slated for 6:30 p.m. at the Alabama Tennis Stadium.
