The Academic Honor Council is a group of students from each college committed to promoting honesty and fairness on campus.

Each specific council for every college is organizing events throughout the week. Events include a tent on the Ferguson Center Plaza and a coffee, doughnuts and testing tips night Wednesday from 8 to 10 p.m. at Bruno and Rodgers Libraries.

“Academic Integrity Week is an important aspect of student life here at Alabama,” said Madison Hooper, chief justice of the College of Communication and Information Sciences’ council. “Alabama is a school of fairness, and Integrity Week promotes that. It allows each individual student to reaffirm their pledge to abide by the rules and regulations of the academic community at the Capstone as well as demonstrate to other students that they will not tolerate dishonesty.”

The CIS Academic Honor Council is hosting a Twitter contest for whomever can create the best Academic Integrity Week meme using a photo of Nick Saban. Prizes will be awarded. The CIS Academic Honor Council twitter

“We hope to be a valuable resource for the students by being equipped with information about tutoring services and plagiarism support on campus,” said Anna Gagnon, chief justice of the College of Human Environmental Sciences’ council. “The Academic Honor Council serves as a symbolic body of integrity for students.

“We have been working hard to put all of our effort into our outreach events and to connect with as many students as possible,” Gagnon said.
