Sorority Row Trick or Treat

On Monday, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., children 12 and under are welcome to participate in the annual Trick-or-Treat on Sorority Row. Hannah McBrayer, president of The University of Alabama’s Panhellenic Association, said the event has become a favorite among the group.

“The purpose of Trick-or-Treat on Sorority Row is to provide an opportunity to give back to the Tuscaloosa community by offering a safe and localized place for children and their parents to participate in a classic Halloween tradition,” McBrayer said.

Sorority women dress in costume and provide fun activities for children such as games, face painting and passing out candy. All the sorority houses participate in the event, and there will be other tents in front of Bryant-Denny Stadium for groups participating who are not located on Colonial Drive or Magnolia Drive. Tutwiler and Harris Hall will also participate by providing games and candy.

“I think the greatest benefit of this event is the interaction that our students get to have with the community,” McBrayer said. “We often raise money for the community, but this event is an awesome way to give back and see the community we’re affecting.”
