Gilmore Girls, Dawson's Creek still beloved shows

The show follows mother Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel) through their lives in Stars Hollow, Connecticut, beginning with Rory’s acceptance to a prestigious high school and ending with her acceptance of her dream job in the finale. The show lasted seven seasons from 2000 to 2007.

“Gilmore Girls” became a quick hit with its unusual 70-to-80-page scripts focusing on a mother-daughter duo instead of broody teens. The show became available to stream on Netflix in October 2014.

The ATX Television Festival recently announced a “Gilmore Girls” reunion panel to be held in Austin, Texas, in June 2015. The panel will occur between June 4 and 7 and will feature Graham, Bledel and creator Amy Sherman-Palladino. The festival brings about excitement and hope of further “Gilmore Girls” reunions, as Sherman-Palladino has always made it known the show
was incomplete.

The festival also announced a Writers’ Room Reunion panel for “Dawson’s Creek.” While the panel holds no new promise for a reunion, it will still allow for a new perspective on the show’s writing and writer intentions.
