'The Green Scene' movie series educates on recycling

The Tuscaloosa Environmental Services Department hopes to change this. They will be hosting “The Green Scene” indoor movie series every Friday until Aug. 7th at 1 p.m. Sponsored by Nucor Steel and Coca-Cola, the event will be free to the public.

“Ultimately, our goal is to educate people,” said Ashley Chambers, City of Tuscaloosa Environmental Educator. “What better way than to come watch a movie that’s environmentally-themed and come take a tour of the recycling plant after the movie?”

Anybody who misses the movies need not fret.

“If people miss out on the summer series, that doesn’t mean they can’t come to us,” Chambers said. “I can give anybody a tour 8-4 Monday-Friday, and not just kids.”

These movies will be shown as a part of the series.
