Pumpkin patches are popping up across the state of Alabama and many have more to offer than just pumpkins. Fall break calls for a trip or even a stop on the way home to some of Alabama’s best pumpkin patch attractions.
1. Critter Creek Farm and Wildlife Center- Vance
Critter Creek Farm and Wildlife Center offers visitors the opportunity to see live animals, from chickens to cougars. Every pumpkin purchased at the farm will provide a donation to their wildlife center. Critter Creek is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
2. Faye Whitmore Farms- Jasper
Faye Whitmore Farms is home to a seasonal pumpkin patch along with their other yearly attractions such as horseback riding, hay mazes, fishing and a petting zoo. The pumpkin patch is open on Saturday’s from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday’s from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
3. The Great Pumpkin Patch- Hayden
The Great Pumpkin Patch boasts the best pumpkins and fun for all ages. It also offers live entertainment, dining options, campfires, hayrides and a Halloween festival. Check greatpumpkinpatch.com for information on their operating hours.
4. Griffin Farms- West Blocton
Ten dollars gets visitors much more than a pumpkin. Admission gives acess to rock climbing, zip lines, hayrides, corn mazes and much more. Griffin Farms is open to the public on Saturday’s from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday’s from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
5. Old Baker Farms- Harpersville
Old Baker Farms is a historic, traditional family farm that opens to the public for seasonal activities. Make a day out of pumpkin picking with horseback riding and lunch any day of the week. Be sure to check oldbakerfarm.com for their seasonal hours.
6. Campus Life Pumpkin Patch- Tuscaloosa
If you are just looking for a pumpkin to decorate your front porch, Campus Life has a pumpkin patch on McFarland Blvd. right next to First Wesleyan Church.
