The Alabama Blues Project is on a mission to serve the community and the Band of Brothers Brewing Co. is here to help.

Alabama Blues Project will host its ninth annual Evening of Arts and Blues Fundraiser at the Band of Brothers Brewing Co. in Tuscaloosa on Feb. 13 at 7 p.m.

Alabama Blues Project provides education about blues music to at-risk children throughout the state of Alabama and the Tuscaloosa area. They also offer music lessons in how to play the guitar, harmonica, drums and vocal lessons through their after-school and summer camp programs.

“The goal of the fundraiser is to just get sponsors to help with fundraising to continue to fund our programs,” said Paula Bemonbreun, Alabama Blues Project executive director.

This event will also serve as the 20-year celebration of the organization. This will be the first time that Band of Brothers has opened up their business for the event.

“One of Band of Brothers passion is brewing, but we also have a passion for music. We love to support local non-profits and when they came and asked to have it here it was just a natural fit,” said Band of Brothers Brewing Co. owner, Jeremy Donald.

To attend the event, tickets can be bought at Band of Brothers or from Alabama Blues Project and can also be bought at the door the night of the event. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

The entertainment for the evening will include performances from the project’s Advanced Band, instructors and to end the performances, former Advanced Band member and founder Debbie Bond. There will also include a silent auction with art and gifts, hors d’ouveres and a cash bar.

There is a chance for artists who wish to participate in the auction and are encouraged to enter a contest to design a 20th anniversary commemorative piece. The winner will be featured at the auction the night of the event.
