Though football season kicks off this weekend, it won’t stop the music scene in Tuscaloosa.

Performing at Green Bar on Thursday night is Birmingham band The Dirty Lungs, who play a psychedelic pop and are known for their grungy attitude, according to a profile of them on secretstages.net. Sound and Shape will be opening for them. Friday will see a performance by Little Bird, with an opening act yet to be determined.

On Saturday, progressive rock band Saturn Valley will take the stage at 10 p.m. Based out of Athens, Georgia, Saturn Valley’s sound combines jazz, funk and other progressive influences to make what the band calls “an unforgettable, cosmic experience.” The band’s second album, “Cartographer” will be released later this year.

Druid City Music Hall will be hosting a Gameday party to show the Alabama vs. USC game. Doors open at 5 p.m. to get the party started and kickoff is at 7 p.m.

Finishing the week is Rhythm and Brews, who will be hosting the band MissUsed on Friday. Based out of Birmingham, the band covers a variety of music from various genres.
