For the first time in the 2016 season, Andie Danell and Erin Routliffe were crowned champions as they triumphed over Quinn Gleason and Whitney Kay of the U.S.
The stretch of dominance marked by the Alabama women’s tennis’ duo was capped off by another victory won by consecutive sets. After winning the first set 6-4, the pair finished off the match and tournament by cruising in the second set of the match. The victory marks the first competition Danell and Routliffe competed in this year.
The pair face a short turnaround and will be back on the court this time in Pacific Palisades, California, to compete in the a Riviera ITA All-American Championships.
