UPDATE (12:45 p.m. 10/6/17): The package only contained clothing, said Chris Bryant, assistant director of media relations.

Bryant said in an email that the University of Alabama Police Department was notified of a suspicious package placed in the mailbox behind Rose Administration Building just after 8 a.m.

“The FBI, a postal inspector, and the Tuscaloosa Bomb Squad assisted in the investigation,” Bryant said.
