The candidate list for the SGA special election being held on Tuesday wasn’t released until Monday morning, the day before the election.

Ethan Fialkow, chair of the Elections Board, said the board released the list so late because they finished certifying the candidates late last week.

“We had to certify all of the candidates [were eligible] before publishing the list,” he said.

The candidates’ statements of intent were due Jan. 14 with the official campaigning period starting Jan. 16. Students can vote through myBama Tuesday, Jan. 23 from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

The two vacated seats represent the College of Arts and Sciences, and the two candidates with the most votes will gain the senate seats. Not all of the candidates had responded by the time of publication, but the ones who did are listed with their year and major.
