The University of Alabama women’s tennis continued its struggle in SEC play as the Crimson Tide fell to No.8 Georgia 4-0 Thursday night.

This loss drops Alabama to 13-11 on the year, and 0-8 in the conference. Georgia started off quickly as it took the first two matches in doubles play. Alabama sophomores Alba Cortina-Pou and Ann Selim were in a hard fought battle against the No. 9 ranked duo in the country, but fell 6-4.

As the match turned to singles play, Georgia didn’t let off the gas pedal. It took the first three matches to secure a sweep against the Crimson Tide.

After starting the season on an impressive nine game winning streak, Alabama has cooled off losing its last 10 out of 11 matches.

The Crimson Tide travels to Tennessee for its next match.
