‘Onion’ story parodies UA Greek life

The Onion, a parody “news” outlet, posted a mocking story spotlighting The University of Alabama’s Greek life on Aug. 30.

“University of Alabama administrators admitted to reporters Thursday that it was pretty weird that they let a bunch of 20-year-olds live in a big mansion and torture each other,” it said.

The story also included satirical quotes from President Stuart Bell.

It ended by saying the University forgot about the issue after receiving a large donation from a wealthy fraternity alumni.

UA officials did not respond to a request for comment on the story.
