Who: First Year Experience and Retention Initiatives are hosting Transfer Student Recognition Week

What: Celebration of transfer students at The University of Alabama

When: Events will go on all week, beginning Monday, Oct. 15 and ending Oct. 19

Where: Ferguson Center

Why: Trenton Brasfield, transfer student outreach student coordinator and a former transfer student from Shelton State Community College, began a new journey the summer of 2017 and has been with the University ever since.

“I am originally from Tuscaloosa, so this is just an extension of town,” Brasfield said. “I love networking and meeting new people. Transferring to the University has allowed me to propel myself to a new level of network and opportunity. As a transfer student myself, I know how it feels to feel lost coming into a new situation, so by recognizing these students, we show them they have a safe place to network and socialize.”
