Colloquium seeks social justice in community

The colloquium in honor of Ethel H. Hall for African-American Heritage Month is sponsored by the UA School of Social Work and will be at the Hotel Capstone Ballroom on Feb. 15. The purpose of this event is to educate students about Hall’s legacy and the importance of social justice in the community. Hall passed away on Nov. 12, 2011.

When: Friday, Feb. 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Hotel Capstone Ballroom

Why:

The keynote speaker of this event, Ben Sciacca, is passionate about social justice and peacemaking. His goal is to educate young people about how to be peacemakers in the world.

“Dr. Ethel Hall was really big on education and seeking social justice through community collaboration,” said Liz Lary, events coordinator for the UA School of Social Work.
