Alabama women’s basketball suffered its worse loss to Auburn, 77-38 on Sunday.

Riding a four-game losing streak, the team’s star player hit a slump and the effect of it is noticeable.

Alabama had plans of fixing its chemistry, minimizing the mistakes, and capitalizing on it. However, it failed to accomplish those goals.

The Crimson Tide shot 10-of-43 and 23 percent from the field, only scoring 12 points at halftime. Alabama had five points in the first quarter and seven points in the second, trailing 38-12 at the break.

Leading the team in scoring was sophomore Ariyah Copeland finishing with 12 points, 10 of which came in the second half, 12 rebounds, three steals and two blocks. Following her was sophomore Jasmine Walker who had nine points.

“We just couldn’t make a shot,” head coach Kristy Curry said in a press release. “We were really cold today, and at the end of the day you can’t come on the road and shoot 23 percent and expect to put yourself in a position to win.”

Alabama travels to Nashville next to play a 6-19 Vanderbilt team, for a must-win game. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
