The University of Alabama Police will be hosting a community day event this Friday.

Who is hosting the event? University of Alabama Police Department (UAPD)

What will happen at the event? The UAPD will give two informational sessions about the various parts of their jobs, from taser demonstrations to detecting explosives.

When is the event? Friday, Aug. 30 at 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Each informational session is 1 and a half hours long.

Where will this be? University Police Center, 1110 Jackson Ave.

Why should you attend? According to UAPD officer Daniel Mosley, Community Day is an effort to foster relationships between campus law enforcement and the students it serves.

“Community Day is an open house,” Mosley said in a press release. “We want to invite the University community to come in and see what the police department is all about.”
