Alabama continued its preparation for its home opener against New Mexico State with another outdoor practice on Tuesday afternoon. Here are our observations from the media viewing period:

All the defensive linemen were present except freshman Justin Eboigbe, who has a foot injury. Junior LaBryan Ray was not participating in individual drills and had his helmet off. There’s no word yet on why; he seemed fine while answering reporters’ questions a few hours earlier.

Freshman Evan Neal and junior Jedrick Wills Jr. were the first pair in left guard and right tackle drills.

Freshman safety Jordan Battle, who had an interception at the end of the Duke game, got a few reps with the first-team dime defense before senior Shyheim Carter came in. The second team consisted of corners Marcus Banks and Jalyn Armour-Davis, Carter at Star, freshman Demarcco Hellams at Money, and Battle and Daniel Wright at safety.

Shane Lee and Christian Harris led the ILBs during individual drills during the media viewing period. After Lee and Harris, Jaylen Moody and Ale Kaho got their turns.

Former Alabama coach Ray Perkins was a guest at practice.
