Alabama soccer’s game against UT-Chattanooga ended in a 1-1 double-overtime draw on Sunday in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The Crimson Tide struggled to capitalize on scoring opportunities. In the first half, Alabama outshot the Mocs 6-1, but the game remained tied going into halftime.

In the 57th minute, senior defender Nealy Martin scored the first goal of the game for Alabama, giving the Crimson Tide the 1-0 lead.

Twenty minutes later, however, the Mocs tied the game, and it would remain tied until the end of regulation, marking Alabama’s first overtime match of the season. Through two overtime periods, the game remained tied, forcing it to end in a 1-1 draw.

On offense, the Crimson Tide dominated in scoring chances, outshooting the Mocs 16-4. Four of those shots were on goal. Junior midfielder Taylor Morgan led Alabama with four shots, and freshman midfielder Carlee Giammona finished second on the team with three. Alabama also led the game in corner kicks, earning nine more than Chattanooga with 10-1.

Junior goalkeeper Alex Plavin finished the contest with two saves.

For Chattanooga, three of its shots were on goal. The Mocs also received the only yellow card of the match.

With the draw, the Crimson Tide’s overall record moves to 3-2-1. The Mocs also move to 3-2-1.

The Crimson Tide will conclude its five-game road trip Thursday when it takes on the Gamecocks of Jacksonville State. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT. It will then return home for a match against North Texas on Sept. 15 before heading back on the road to Arkansas on Sept. 22.
