Alabama spent its first practice of the bye week outside on Tuesday afternoon. Here are our observations from practice:

Henry Ruggs III was seen at practice but did not participate in any of the wide receiver drills during the media viewing period. It was confirmed on Saturday by coach Nick Saban that Ruggs suffered a hip flexor injury in the first quarter against Ole Miss.

D.J. Dale was not seen at practice today. The freshman defensive lineman is still recovering from a hyperextended knee that kept him out of the Southern Miss game and limited him in the Ole Miss match up. With Dale out, Raekwon Davis worked with Phidarian Mathis and Justin Eboigbe on the sleds.

The inside linebackers joined the D-line at the sleds as they worked on shedding oncoming blockers. Shane Lee and Christian Harris were the first duo to participate in the drill followed by Ale Kaho and Jaylen Moody. Markail Benton, who dressed for warm ups against Ole Miss but did not play in the game, was seen at practice working through drills.

The offensive line did not work together as a full unit of five during the media viewing period. They instead worked on blocking and their stances for each individual positions. Evan Neal and Landon Dickerson were the first guards to go through the drill followed by Emil Ekiyor Jr. and Deonte Brown. Chris Owens was the first center when the drills focused just on the centers. He was then followed by Dickerson and Ekiyor.
