10 fashion trends to follow this fall

The weather is getting cooler, and soon the leaves will be changing. Fall is right around the corner, which means it’s time to vamp up your wardrobe with the season’s latest trends. Nordstrom has released their annual Fall’s 10 best trends list. Don’t be flustered; the 10 trends aren’t hard to incorporate into your closet, take it one piece at a time.

    1. Capes and Ponchos: A cape or poncho can easily spice up an outfit. Throw a printed cape over a T-shirt and leggings on your way to class, and instantly you look more put together with just one item.
    2. Bold Color Mixes: Color blocking was huge for summer, and can translate into fall with spicier, warm colors. Try not to wear more than three different colors, or wear two contrasting colors.
    3. Stacked Heels: Add a little height with a pumped-up heel. This can be on loafers, boots or sandals. Look for the wooden heel.
    4. Midi Lengths: Longer, mid-length skirts are everywhere right now. Not too short, but not too long, is the way to go this fall. Try a pleated midi-length skirt.
    5. Chocolate Metals: A mix of dark silver and gold, chocolate metals are spunkier this fall.
    6. The Bow Blouse: I’m not sure that bow blouses will ever go out of style.
    7. The Skinny: Skinny jeans, leather, silk, corduroy, or velvet pants. There are so many ways to wear the skinny. Colored skinny trousers are a fun way to incorporate color.
    8. Leather Sportswear: Leather doesn’t have to give off a tough vibe, this season wear leather in a softer way. A leather skirt or crop top is feminine, yet still edgy.
    9. The Heritage Jacket: This can be anything from a wool blazer, to a preppy riding jacket. Keep warm but remain stylish.
    10. Faux Fur: Faux fur is just as chic.
