A University of Alabama graduate was killed in a single-vehicle car crash at 4 a.m. Sunday on Tuscaloosa County road 10 approximately nine miles south of Tuscaloosa, according to a release from the Alabama state troopers.

A missing person’s report had been filed for the driver, Zachary Koch, 24 around 11:20 p.m. Sunday, according to Lt. Teena Richardson, Tuscaloosa police spokesman.

According to Richardson, the report said Koch hadn’t been seen or heard from since between 2 and 3 a.m. Sunday.

An investigation took place on Monday to find Koch. According to AL.com, Koch’s 2003 Ford Mustang was discovered around 1:30 p.m. on Monday.

“[Koch’s vehicle] left the roadway and struck a fence before traveling down an embankment and striking several trees,” King’s release said.
