After a dominant performance in game one, Alabama softball lost game two to South Carolina by a score of 5-1.

Alabama could not muster much offense against South Carolina’s Dixie Raley as the Crimson Tide scored one run on five hits. The one run was thanks to a solo home run by junior Bailey Hemphill, her only hit of the game.

Senior Courtney Gettins got the start for Alabama and battled hard but took the loss in a complete-game effort. Gettins allowed nine hits and five runs in her six innings of work, which is the most hits she has allowed in a start and the second most earned runs in a start.

The series rubber match is set for a 12 p.m. CT first pitch on Sunday, April 7.
